Just so you know, the only reason David Duke got elected state rep in Louisiana is because the only other person on the ballot was Hillary Clinton.

Okay, I just made that up, but it worked for Dan Rather, so I thought I'd try...

I happened to be IN Metarie one night in 1979 when Duke and his cretins were having a rally at a school gym.
I decided to go to the scene of the protest I heard was going to happen and you know who was there?Three pro-Castro Cubans and three members of the Socialist Workers Party!Meanwhile, hundreds of Klan supporters filed by us calling us"nigger lovers"and screaming "white power".
It was truly sickening.I felt embarassed being around the pro-Reds and tried to separate myself from them but felt if I got too isolated,I would get jumped by the little Nazi thugs.
My question to this day was-WHERE were the non Communist folks of all races who wanted to speak up against Duke and his thugs?By not showing up they let the Communists take the higher moral ground which is completely absurd.

David Duke did run for governor of Louisiana, against no less than Edwin Edwards. According to my sister living there, the unofficial slogan for both of them was "hold your nose and choose." She knows of several of her friends who, along with her, voted in the other contests but couldn't vote for either of these two dips.
