We celebrate a job well done with a slap on the back and a cold beer. They celebrate a job well done by slaughtering an animal and then eating it.
Nothing to see here, move along, folks.

no, but sometimes we slaughter, clean, cook and eat fish and crawfish.
Go to Central America -- You pick the fish you want to eat from a pond out back and they kill/clean/cook it for you right there. Oh wait... we do that for Lobster here.
The issue here is cultural. Killing animals to eat is not barbarism.

Killing animals to eat is not barbarism. I didn't say it was.
What I did say is that it is inappropritae to kill and clean a large mammal in the office.

Now THAT I agree with!!! LOL
We'd have to call in the HazMat teams and the lawyers just for the clean up. Plus the grief counselors for the employees.

Killing animals to eat is not barbarism.
Killning cattle, sheep, deer, bear, etc is fine and dandy.
But civlized people don't kill and eat animals they have an intimate contact with normally - like dogs, cats, horses, donkeys, camels, or certain other types of animals we would consider "unnatural", e.g. beetle larvae, monkeys, elephants, ants, etc.
On the other hand, in certain otherwise "civilized" cultyres, like certain eastern Asian people, almost ANY animal matter is considered fair game from sea horses and urchins to bear gall bladders.
I prefere fowel, buffalo (American), cattle, deer, wild boar, prok, etc.
But there is something repulsive about sacrificing, killing, dismembering and eating a creature you have such a personal relationship with as a camel, and I relate that to the low level of social advacnement in Islamic societies in general.

Hey, at least it wasn't human sacrifice..... but maybe they should have kept their activities away from the friggin' airport...... personally, I'd feel better as an airline passenger anytime I could glimpse a camel being hacked to pieces as my plane taxied toward take-off.....
