Personally, I don't have a problem with them slaughtering a beast of burden for a festival BBQ. Doing it AT the airport might raise other issues. Doing it on the grounds of their company building might be OK.

We have beef and pork ribs EVERY 4th of July.

A company picnic sounds fine to me-- just a different animal in play here.

Who has a real beef with this?

Sounds like a nonnews story to me. They got done early and celebrated.

Does your company picnic usually include the slaughtering and cleaning of cows and pigs in your office space?
