Congresswoman Barbara Lee, D-Oakland, was named to the House Appropriations Committee Wednesday, Lee's office reported.
Lee will be one of five California Democrats on the Appropriations Committee, which is in charge of setting the specific expenditures of money by the government, according to Lee's office.
`I look forward to working with my fellow Californians on the committee to ensure that our state is getting the federal resources we deserve,'' Lee said in a statement. `This committee assignment puts me in a better position than ever to continue to fight for and serve the people of California's 9th District.''

the train to marxism is speeding up...
Is this the nut who refuses to salute the flag?
How inappropriate.
Isn't she the only one who voted against the war?
not sure, but she is possibly the most liberal person on the committee now.
Let's see...Nancy Pelosi...from California...and now has 5 FIVE Californians on the Appropriations committee??
Like Barbara Lee said...they are making sure that California gets their share of contracts....pfffffft
PING
Yikes, Pelosi is worse (or maybe better) than I thought. She's putting the Marxists in charge. Should be interesting.
Collectivism is on the march.
I also think that Barbara Lee may be payback for Jefferson is she doesn't put him back on Ways and Means.
I feel lotsa welfare coming on...
She's goint to get her district the federal resources they "deserve". Deserve for doing what? Breathing?
Marxist Socialist Un American -itch
Get a load of this -
"President Bushs $674 billion economic stimulus plan is fatally flawed. Instead of cutting taxes by $364 billion the Federal Government could:
Provide 43 million children with school lunches for an entire year
Provide all recommended vaccinations to 88 million children
Provide lifetime medical treatment for 156,000 people suffering from diabetes
Provide dinner every day of the year for 50 million senior citizens via the Meals on Wheels program.
Treat 3.64 million Americans living with HIV/AIDS
Fund a new National Institute of Health with enough left over to fund two new Centers for Disease Control
Fund adequate nursing staff for 728 150- bed hospitals
Provide enough funds to run almost every emergency room in America
Provide enough funding to deliver 568,750 healthy babies
Increase Medicaid funding for HIV/AIDS by 9- fold
Make our streets safer by putting another 100,000 community police officer on our streets and in our neighborhoods and fully support state and local first responders in their efforts to prevent and respond to acts of terrorism; and substantially increase our border security personnel and technology; and double the federal resources currently expended to fight health care and fraud. "
And that's just her "Economic Security" position...
Did you actually have any illusions that a Marxist would not hand off power to other Marxists? Sometimes I wonder if our side has any idea of what it's really dealing with. New Left Communists took over the Democrat Party in the Sixties and the focal point of their power was and is the Berkeley-Oakland-San Francisco area. Barbara Lee was mentored by Ron "Red" Dellums, an original member of that power structure, who actually was head of House Armed Services Committee and did enormous damage to our military preparedness! We're about to see a Dellums redux.
As frightening is that "Moonbeam" Jerry Brown has actually been elected from Oakland Mayor to the most powerful legal position in California (Attorney General). It leaves him in a perfect position to exert enormous harmful political influence on California law and positions him for another run at Governor. He left his position as Oakland mayor to...Ron Dellums. Is anyone begining to see a pattern here?
`I look forward to working with my fellow Californians on the committee to ensure that our state is getting the federal resources we deserve
Deserve?
Thats right Miss Lee...Youre "Entitled" to that Money right?
She is making a joke of our country.
