The thought of terror affecting our schools really bothers me, so I am praying the hazmat teams are just taking all possible precautions.

What kind of powder could cause such an immediate effect?

Latest from NBC10 in Philadelphia.

A Willingboro, N.J., elementary school was quarantined after a teacher received a letter with a substance.

The teacher was at Garfield Park-East school on Evergreen Drive. The entire school is now locked down.

Students are on buses waiting to be taken to the Country Club building on Rancocas Road. Parents are asked to go there to wait for the students, who will arrive after being cleared by the health department.

A press conference is expected shortly at the middle school.

The teacher reportedly had a reaction to a substance found in a letter she opened.

Initially, fire department officials reported that the teacher was taken to Lourdes Medical Center in Willingboro, N.J.

But officials now report the woman is at Virtua Memorial at Mount Holly, N.J.

The emergency room at that hospital has not be quarantined as originally reported by the fire company.

Or it was an inert powder, and there was mass hysteria.

Story right now is a bit thin, but if she got ill right away it's not bacterial or viral or one of the common bio threats like SEB. Those take a while.

Some Radioactive Materials can cause immediate illness and death.

The sources in hospital x-ray cameras, if exposed, would kill immediately.

Itching powder has been my suspicion, too.

Hopefully it's something so benign as itching powder or an emotional reaction.

If an attacker knew the victim, said attacker may have been privy to substances that the victim (may) be allergic to.
