The brits made the best chassis' and tires anywhere in those days.
But, if you drove through a puddle you needed a hair dryer or you waited for warm weather to continue.
You should have seen our family's 1938 MG TA. Wooden body parts, a clutch plate with corks stuffed into holes in the clutch plate.
Driving it in the rain was an experience with the flimsy side curtains and windshield wipers that barely worked. I didn't care, the girls liked it.
Wish I still had it. Sold it way too cheaply.
