Well, they must feel obligated to run the story once, knowing that at most it will be buried as a one paragraph item deep, deep within tomorrow's newspapers.

That's no mystery. Their team won the most recent match. Their reporting on past misdeeds will not cost them, and it clears the air for the future. The Clintons perfected this technique. They always said "old news", lets move on, and the media, obediently complied.

Students of the Clintons know that they perfected this approach during his terms as Governor of Arkansas. "I almost hate to deny those reports of my having affairs with all of those women." Some of them were real foxes, and he was having it both ways. Expect the same of Hillary, and don't be duped by this story in AP. They are just sweeping up stumbling blocks for her campaign.
