2006 Naughty and Nice List

--------------------------

Posted: December 22, 2006 1:00 a.m. Eastern

It's one of my most favorite times of the year, and as we all celebrate Christmas (or to my Jewish friends, Hanukkah) and welcome in a New Year, it's time we took a look at this year's Naughty and Nice List.

Some boys and girls have been on their best behavior this year, standing up for the virtues of decency, honesty, morality and the side of freedom and goodness. Others shouldn't be surprised if Santa Claus and his reindeer decide to pass them over when it comes to holiday cheer.

Put a lump of coal in Rosie O'Donnell's stocking. The belligerent talk show host of "The View" once fooled people into believing that she was the "Queen of Nice." Now the world knows that was all an act, and the snarky, ugly side of Rosie is on full display five days a week.

"Ching Chong Rosie" makes fun of Asians but defends Islamic terrorists, telling Americans not to "fear the terrorists. They're mothers and fathers." Next from Rosie: attacks on Santa Claus for being a homophobe.

Opposite Rosie O'Donnell is the inner and outer beauty of LeAnn Rimes, who makes this year's Nice List. While Rosie has worked to backstab U.S. troops, LeAnn has been a proud patriot lending her time and voice to the pro-troops movement, singing for the troops throughout the nation and around the world.

At a time when so many vocalists have turned to intimations of sex to sell records, Rimes maintains a sense of class and dignity that is unparalleled. She is a role model to young women everywhere, and her charitable efforts have touched the lives and hearts of countless people.

Add Pat Dollard to the list of those who have been nice. The one-time self-described "Hollywood Pimp" traded in his high-powered lunches with Hollywood's A-listers and headed over to Iraq to document the gritty heroics of U.S. troops fighting for the cause of freedom.

That included surviving IED attacks on a unit he was traveling with. As one of his compatriots, Capt. Iglesias, points out, Pat "sacrificed all of his material possessions and put his life on the line in order to tell the story that no one else wanted to tell. To think this man could have, and almost did, die just so he could bring a reality to the American people that would otherwise be unknown."

If Pat Dollard represents one of the John Wayne masculine men of 2006, then former Secretary of State James Baker represents the prototype creepy effetes of the political establishment.

While Dollard survived enemy attacks from terrorists, Baker had only to endure a cup of tea that was a bit too lukewarm for his liking while he dined in the safe confines of Baghdad's "Green Zone."

Baker only dropped in for one very brief visit to the safe zone of Iraq before he got together with some of the Foggy Bottom crowd to scribble the Iraq Surrender Group report. That's the report, you'll recall, that appallingly called for terrorist states Iran and Syria to lead the fight against terrorism in Iraq.

The Iraq Surrender Group report also piled on Israel, demanding that the Israelis give up more land to Palestinian suicide bombers and Hezbollah terrorist cells.

James Baker deserves to be walloped upside the head with a stocking full of coal this Christmas. He is a disgrace to this nation at a critical time in history, serving the interests of his Saudi Arabian employers instead of the interests of the American people.

Joining Baker in the pool of Republicans who embarrass their own party is Sen. Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania. As conservative activist Doug Patton points out, the "R" after Specter's name stands for RINO, not Republican.

I think I'll make up some cards to send to the Gitmo detainees with a rather non-descript picture of the middle east on the front. Inside, it will bear the message "Merry Christmas! By accepting this card, you are accepting Christianity, and have foresaken Islam!", then have some marines take their pictures looking at the cards, to be posted on the Internet...

What The F*** Is Up With Pat Dollard?
UPDATE: Pat Dollard vs Sharon Waxman, Trailer for Pat Dollard's Iraq Documentary

(click on link for more)

Everyone is writing about ex-Hollywood agent Pat Dollard (Steven Soderbergh's former rep) while everyone in Hollywood is worrying he's gone all Colonel Kurtz (some say Travis Bickle) on us. My view? Agenting makes everyone who does it crazy, and Dollard is just trying to regain his sanity. Trouble is, he's doing it in Iraq and making like a pro-war Michael Moore with a camcorder. Coverage of him began in January with a squib in U.S. News & World Report, which then solicited Dollard's own account of the trials of filming what is described as his TV documentary.

One nadir: his Humvee convoy (above: Dollard's photo of it courtesy of U.S. News) was blown up by a "monster" IED in Ramadi, killing two Marines and sending him into the hospital. He confided to U.S. News he worries about the soldiers, and tells that to his camera a lot. Read here and here (scroll down for both). There's this week's update from him on HollywoodInterrupted.com. Thankfully, Dollard is up and around again. I, for one, can't wait to see his footage no matter its political POV. If HBO were ironic, it'd run it as the half-hour companion to Entourage.

Never heard of him so a quick google search and...)

Maybe sending christmas cards to islamic terrorists is not necessarilly showing them support but making a different point.

That one lady who sent the Christmas cards to the officials who took her house would be a good candidate to send "good" Christmas cards to the terrorists.

"More Americans sent Christmas wishes to terrorist detainees at GITMO than the troops stationed there!"

If true, the so called "Americans" sending those 14,000 cards should have their names and addresses published. Lets see just who they are.

They could be seemingly feeble attempts at presenting Christ to them. If it produced one convert to Christianity it would be worth it. God still does move in mysterious ways. I can hope, at least.

OK, but here's what doesn't make a lot of sense. Wouldn't Christmas messages celebrating Jesus be also worthy of being sent to the U.S. Troops at GITMO too? It's not like the troops got 100,000 cards... oh and 14,000 were sent by Americans in a noble spirit to try and save the souls of the terrorists.

The heathens were getting wishes (that I believe were mostly "you poor souls are being treated so unfairly by the corrupt neocons") and our troops were getting shafted.

Really sad!
