This Irving guy is deliberately provocative, and (so far as I understand) he has been shown to sometimes get his facts wrong, but I fail to see why he was in jail to begin with. Also I think the suggestions here and elsewhere that he deserves violence for being a lying jerk are way, way off the mark. Treating his personality and veracity issues as though they are of a different and more critical type than say those of Michael Moore or of any number of Muslim firebrands is not good for our society and is, I believe, particularly harmful to Jews in the end. That David Irving gets thrown in jail for expressing opinions while Michael Moore and Mullah Whoever do not kinda supports at least part of his case.

How does his being thrown in jail in Austria support his case? It's illegal to deny the holocaust in former Nazi nations. That's their law. If big mouths like David Irving want to commit acts of civil disobedience, let them pay the price. We ought to have the same laws in place in this country. You want to slander our Commander in Chief durng wartime, aid and abet the enemy, go right ahead. But pay the price. Let them have the courage of their convictions. Then let's see how brave these fatsos like Cindy Sheehan, Micheal Moore and the rest of the over-indulged left really are. Bring back the Sedition and Espionage Acts. Let them drink the hemlock. It was good enough for Socrates.

He was arrested in Austria. Denying that the holocaust occurred is a crime in Austria. It needs to be.
