Should all now be shocked at this?
Did we REALLY expect anything else?
Time will tell, but I am not very upbeat; just glad I am old enough to be pushing up daisies when the XYZ nationals that despise the US walk on this land freely after milking every conceivable benefit from the taxpayers.
And then, who knows how many generations from now, are conquered by another nation as productive and creative as the US has been from birth, because 'they' won't be able to even feed themselves.

The Federales have cheapened the currency; now, they cheapen the law and debase the value of citizenship. No wonder so many people don't care any more...even to bother with voting.

Amnesty is repulsive enough but what's with this weird obsession to make it possible for illegal alien maggots to become citizens? Their anchor babies are citizens. Isn't that enough? GW let these illegals overrun our borders the last 6 years.

Statement: "Bipartisan Effort to Draft Immigration Bill"

Response: However the final bill reads it will inflict the maximum amount of harm short of actual shooting.

The major lawmakers drafting the legislation include Senators Edward M. Kennedy, Democrat of Massachusetts, and John McCain, Republican of Arizona, along with Representatives Jeff Flake, Republican of Arizona, and Luis V. Gutierrez, Democrat of Illinois. The four met this month, and their staffs have begun working on a bill.

Disgusting but not surprising. What WILL be entertaining however is if McCain wins the GOP nomination and is against Hitlery. Those who condemn him now will be singing his praises later on. Power is seductive for bots.

The House Republicans really kicked Sensenbrenners butt. I guess they blame him for losing the House with his get tough immigration bill.

The most we can hope for is one Senator to have the backbone to put a 'hold' on any amnesty bill.

I don't think we have any, however. None did it last year when the bill came up.

Its starting already ,the giving away of America.

Whatever is passed, will the President veto it?

IMO he wont even think twice before signing it.

This could be the making of a permanent democrat majority. Millions of new voters who will depend on government assistance. The Republicans, who would support this are either crazy, or just paid for by big money contributors while being shortsighted as to where this will end. If this goes the wrong way it will be the end of our country as we know it.

Many politicians in Washington are eager to sell out this country. Corruption, treason, mental illness - whatever their reason, we need people to stand up to them and fight demands for amnesty.

Being illegally in this country should be grounds for never gaining citizenship, but instead so far it has brought forth perks and a sense of entitlement.

The House Republicans should have compromised when they had a chance. They have only themselves to blame.

They are very much out of touch with the voters in this country.

I hope it costs them dearly in 3008.

"...measures that could place millions of illegal immigrants on a more direct path to citizenship..."

I don't think amnesty was what most Americans had in mind when they started talking about "immigration reform." All amnesty is going to do is boost the "poverty rate" in my country and add to the number of people who need "free" healthcare. This isn't a good move. We tried this "path to citizenship" crap back in the 80s and it only made matters worse.

George Bush can go to hell. All the Bushbots who think he is the greatest conservative of all time need to wake up and smell the coffee. Bush and his RINO friends in Congress are conspiring to underenforce the borders in order to increase the illegal alien population. He does not give two craps if his own party becomes a permanent minority. He probably thinks God told him to open the borders.

Thomas Jefferson said citizens have the right to over throw the government, when it no longer represents the will of the people. "ARE WE THERE YET"?

The lawmakers are also considering denying financing for 700 miles of fencing along the border with Mexico, a law championed by Republicans that passed with significant Democratic support.

There is the part that should send chills down the spine of anyone. These corrupt dogs are going to totally ignore law passed by large majoriy of our elected officials. Just wave their hands, and poof! gone! That's a lot more frightening than the scary number of illegals were going to throw instant citizenship on.
