The left always demonizes republican presidents as either (a) stupid (b) evil or (c) evil and stupid. With Ford, they couldnt make evil stick, so they went with stupid. But he wasnt inarticulate, so they decided to portray him as so clumsy and unaware that he was barely able to walk. A goofball who cared only about football and would knock everything around him down as he plowed through a room. Even the kid movie "Gus" about a field goal kicking mule took such unwarranted shots at him. He deserved better.
President Ford will have as his legacy that he replaced Richard Nixon and began a healing process in the wake of Watergate and Vietnam, a process which was completed by Ronald Reagan. For that, he deserves our respect and gratitude.
That says a lot about the Left. That approach has taken over ever since it worked to get Nixon out of office (not that I liked him).
Ford earned a Yale law degree, but Yale barely admitted it during the Ford years. That alone is quite an accomplishment for a man serving as a full-time coach.
The Left should have loved Ford for abandoning Viet Nam, although credit goes to all of Congress at the time. But the Left is never grateful for having its agenda carried out.
Ford was great for the economy and really knew the budget.
RIP Mr. President. A great American.
The Left never forgave Ford for letting Jimmy Carter and all his stupidity be elected. If it wasn't for Carter, the 80's might have been a lot more socialist.

In actuality, Ford was probably the most athletic man ever elected to the presidency. He really could ski without falling!
