"Not to mention a few Congressman and Senators as well. "

Let me also add recently retired FBI employees and Congress Critters to the list.

It's a shame though that they will probably never get to the bottom of it all.

I wonder.

Yet Bush PROMOTED Gates (who mismanaged/supported/was responsible for) the problems in the CIA who screwed up information in the years before the Iraq War.

Yep, they should have been issuing subpoenas to those reporters publishing known classified information and go through them one by one till someone spilled the beans and the rest could just rot in jail.

Our nation is in great peril from very dangerous elements in the world today unless we get control of this information security problem and do it quickly.

When we hear constant reminders of security breaches like these, how confident can we be that our most sensitive state secrets, including nuclear weapon technology, are not vulnerable to groups such as al-Qaeda?

It's time to clean house in the FBI, from the top on down.

That's the underlying theory with asymmetrical warfare.

A twisted mind with $10,000 destroys a billion dollar asset.

There's only so many hits you can take before you find yourself in serous economic trouble.

You are taking the positive outlook on this. Pessimists, like myself, assume they have been stolen.

"That's not incompetence, it's outright criminal behavior. Time to give lie detector tests to every FBI employee who has access to those files."

You pegged it and also all of the FBI including non-FBI people that have access to the building, janitors and their ilk.

Before the USA entered WWI, the German Embassy keys were given to our American Ambassador "Walter Page".
The reason was to help tourists and businessmen stuck in both countries when WWI was declared.
An English grounds keeper was the biggest spy for Germany and the English had not looked at him.
Walter Page caught him and the English took care of him.

The above shows that not only the personal should be checked again but the drab cleaning woman could be the criminal.

I gave up on the FBI a long time ago. The JFK investigation was a farce. The flight 800, ditto. I figure they are good every now and then, but never when it counts.

Hoover was attacked for pursuing auto theft. Now the local police won't even drop by when a car is stolen. But smoke a ciggy in a restaurant?! Blam.

Back in reality this means just the opposite. It is PRECISELY because the gov. is going after the traitors that that files turn up missing.

That shadow government....being directed by Soros, at it again??

Hillbilly got FBI files while in the WH...whose to say they still aren't???

I would love for Alberto Gonzalez to come out and say that there is a virtual lockdown at the FBI..and all present and previous employees will be "questioned"...until the files are found.

Yes and the Constitution charges the government with two things and two things only-
1) Providing for the common defense
2) Regulating interstate commerce

They do not provide for our commnon defense, and they've twisted the interstate commerce clause to mean anything and everything some nutball judge wants it to mean.

Funny this is coming out now. Is that a signal to all of Hillary's Marcy Park Candidates that "The coast is clear. I own you".

Files....FBI files. Sounds so familiar.

The FBI, incompetent?

Is this the same organization which has spent over 5 fruitless years searching ponds for the 9/11 era anthrax killer and has ignored all information on John Doe #2 of OKC fame?

That criminally incompetent FBI?
