Law orders removal of Arlington remains
December 27, 2006
HAGERSTOWN, Md. The cremated remains of a murderer must be removed from Arlington National Cemetery under a new federal law.
The provision ordering the removal of Russell Wayne Wagner's remains was included in a veterans' health care and benefits bill that President Bush signed into law Friday.
Wagner, a Vietnam veteran, was convicted in 2002 of stabbing to death Daniel Davis, 84, and Wilda Davis, 80, in their home in 1994. He was sentenced to life in prison.
Wagner died in 2005 of a heroin overdose in prison at age 52. Because he was honorably discharged from the Army in 1969, he qualified for interment at Arlington. His remains were placed there July 27, 2005, at the request of his sister.

I guess he didn't contribute enough money to the DNC and Clinton campaigns.........
but but isnt' Arlington full of murderers, rapists, reminiscent of Jenkis Can? /sarc
conduct unbecoming of a soldier.
You mean like the late San Diego millionaire Larry Lawrence?
You can get a refresher of this Clinton scandal at Arlington at:

"Wagner died in 2005 of a heroin overdose in prison at age 52. Because he was honorably discharged from the Army in 1969"
If this is accurate, he was 16 years old when he was discharged.
Great Comment! Dumb old John Kerry.
Kerry's mottos is OPEN MOUTH, INSERT FOOT.
Mega dittos
Wow!
I missed that one.
It must be MSM math...
or Wagner lied about his age to get in the Army?
How the heck did this guy get approved for burial at Arlington? Not to pass on the guy's sins to his family, but I hope they have to reimburse expenses. They should have asked for a state pauper's funeral and let the prison bury him. His victims were around the same age of my father who died just before Christmas. I know how vulnerable he could have been at the hands of some psycho. So no, I don't feel sorry for this "hero" or his family. Even his corpse is taking up too much space.
Had to be one old-looking sixth grader to get in to the army in the first place to be discharged at 16.
OTOH, who would want to bury his or her loved one in a used grave, a grave emptied because the deceased was a convicted murderer? Seems like second skimmings in its worst form. Since the officials are going to do this, I hope someone goes to that site and prays a blessing on the ground, a renewing, so its eventual second tenant's remains may rest in a blessed place. I do not say this out of superstition but out of knowing the land cries out to God, as the Bible says, when it is defiled by unrighteous acts.
It was my understanding that his cremated remains were placed in the Columbarium at Arlington.
My dad lied about his age to get into the Army Air Corps when he was 16 or 17. He was there long enough to get processed into the system before he was caught. He received an honorable discharge and later joined the Navy.
The niches are raised aboveground; no "grave" is involved.
Oh, just toss the corpse in the nearest McDonald's dumpster and be done with it.
It's a grave whether it's in the earth or in a box receptacle for cremated remains. The principle applies to either place where a dead person's remains are laid.
It will be assigned to the next person who's in line for a spot; having interred family at Arlington, I know that at least in the columbarium, you don't get any choice as to your "spot".
