Saddam Hussein may be hanged within hours, senior Iraqi officials and the ousted president's defence team said on Friday.
One senior Iraqi source told Reuters key legal issues had been resolved and he could go to the gallows shortly. Another official said Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki was meeting key figures, including the Justice Minister, to agree the details.

I suspect the 'confusion' prior is deliberate. And I hope this task is accomplished shortly; as dawn is now 'upcoming' in Iraq. . .he must go asap. . .and I suspect he will; before 'we know it'. . .

"Look for the Kossaks and the DUmmies to go into mourning shortly. They'll probably lower their UN flags to half-staff." I'll be looking forward to all the new conspiracy theories.

His body may be lifted to the sky, but his soul, such as it is, will be going elsewhere. I imagine he'll be reunited with Uday and Qusay, as well as Zarqawi.
I fervently hope Mookie Sadr joins them all sometime in 2007. The sooner, the better.
Iraq is hot in the summer, but I suspect Saddam's final destination will be much hotter.

CNN is realy upset about this execution for some reason.... are they afraid that it will mark a victory for Bush? Or, do they just hate our country? Both reasons, no doubt.
Think I will force myself to 'go over' and check out the symptoms of their 'Saddam Malaise. . .'
That said; there are No antidotes here. . .just 'GET OVER IT, CNN'!

I noticed the same thing the other day when the death sentence was concerned, and the anchorette made a statement to the reporter on the scene that went something like, "Is there any other avenue of appeal left? SURELY, international law should supersede Iraqi law in this!"
