Reminds me of an incident back in the Vietnam era. Dean Rusk gave a talk at UVA, and some protesters had leaflets that said "If you were in Vietnam, this would be a bomb" that they were tossing from the balcony. At the end of the speech, one guy approached Dean and asked him to sign one of these. While he didn't sign it "Bombs away, Dean Rusk", as requested, he did autograph it. At least he had a sense of humor. True story, I swear. I was there.
These days we'd get arrested for making a terrorist threat. Things were tough back then, but not everything had to be taken so seriously.
