Edwards still doesn't get it

So, John Edwards has thrown his hat into the presidential ring.

Unfortunately, he has a losing message.

His ultra-liberal approach will elicit only a small niche of support among the ultra lefties in the Democratic Party.

Democrats know (or at least, I think they know) that their success in the 2006 midterm election was largely a function of their best efforts to imitate Republicans. It was the conservative Blue Dog Democrats who were the tail successfully wagging the entire Democratic dog.

That said, if John Edwards somehow managed to reverse this tide and win his party's nomination, he would lead his party to a crushing defeat in 2008.

For starters, he wants to cut and run from Iraq. Such an ill-conceived policy would leave this budding nation in shambles, with terrorists following us back to the United States. It would extinguish the candle of Iraq's democracy experiment -- an experiment that could still pay enormous dividends if the United States follows through with a bold, new troop surge strategy and a refurbished plan of economic reconstruction. These are the actions that will stabilize Baghdad and their democratically elected government, not cutting and running.

On the domestic side, Edwards fares just as badly. He's recycling an old page from the liberal Democratic playbook, saying that he wants to make fighting poverty the great moral issue of our time. He says he'll accomplish this by taxing the rich in order to help the poor. Oh, really?

Tax capital in order to create new jobs? Huh? Haven't we learned that you can't create new jobs (for the poor or anyone else) without healthy businesses and plentiful new business creation? And that businesses require capital in order to expand? And haven't we learned that punishing success through higher tax rates ...

Class warfare and nice hair. Oh, and he wants to retreat in the WOT. That's all you've got, Edwards?

This GIF is for you, Senator:

Somehow this one always comes to mind when I think of the "Breck Girl".

One can only hope this comes true!

"Five Point Plan"....."Two Americas"....

It will go over well with the granola munchers and Nanny State advocates. Hopefully, that still equals less than 50 percent of the electorate.

Edwards has campaigned promoting "Class warfare" through his constant statements of there being "Two Americas", one with, and one without (wealth.) He frequently attempts to create a divide between the people using the same techniques in propaganda that the Communists used in Russia to instigate the communist revolution. He's not competent enough to actually start a revolution, in fact he's so pathetic in his attempts it borderlines on comical. The fact remains he's a raging leftist politically, and I pretty much group all leftists as the enemy, who in the end seeks to promote Socialism/Communism over capitalism and a free society.

And the "homo" thing is just a mean poke at all the fun we make of his hair.

Yes, "Two Americas", the ones stupid enough to support the Breck Girl, Hillary, Kerry et al, and the rest of us.

So, now, by saying nothing, Hillary is to the right of Hussein Obama and right of Jonnie Edwards. The dem tactic appears to be working. She has surrogates moving her to the center.

Yeah. Edwards has to go hard Left to be nominated; but he won't be. He does Hillary a favor because the DNC pimp media will play her as the moderate.

Remember, the liberal media's dream race is Hillary/Obama and McCain/Graham. They've been pushing these folks for a year or more.

Since I live in NC, our state and local news played a story (complete with his annoying voice) about Edward's announcement ad nauseum while I was listening to Rush on Friday. I finally had to turn down the volume every time the clip came on because I was getting physically ill. I actually said out loud the thought that came to me - John Edwards is nothing but an empty suit with good hair. He is trying to win the Democrat nomination for POTUS without knowing anything about how the economy works. It's amazing to me that someone could be so arrogant that he thinks he can run for, much less win, the office of POTUS with so little preparation.

>>>the liberal media's dream race is Hillary/Obama and McCain/Graham. They've been pushing these folks for a year or more.

No. The dream was McCain vs Bush, which lasted six years now. More recently as the Bush presidency winds down I see the press showing signs of panic how successfully McCain was built up. With 2008 looming the media attacks on McCain are building up as the need to tear him down becomes more urgent.

I'm no McCain fan since the night of the South Carolina primary when I saw his tantrum directed at the voters and that reporter (Maria Schriver?) All the same that the far right joins hands with the leftwing editorial writers in trying to discredit him seems ironic and self defeating.

And btw I agree the "homo communist" pic is pretty lame. That's precisely the sort of thing people point to when they want to discredit the site and the sorts of people who post.

First step out of poverty is to quit blaming others for your self created problems. Another step is to not destroy jobs and the economy.
