Inviting Ward Connerly to speak to a special Wisconsin legislative committee studying affirmative action is like inviting the grand wizard of the Ku Klux Klan to address a hearing on race relations.
Connerly is a black man who has received millions of dollars from Milwaukee's Bradley Foundation and other right-wing organizations to travel the country opposing affirmative action for black people.

Liberals press for minority voter registration on the assumption that minorities will vote their ethnicity, which they do, and they have no problem with that. But when whites vote their ethnicity, it's racism and must be stopped.
According to these idiots, when a white succeeds, it's racism, but when a minority succeeds, it's justice. Merit is not a factor. This is typical left wing racism that presumes that racial minorities cannot compete solely based on merit; liberals are bigots.
I remember when the feminists kept hammering that "not enough women were elected to office". When the numbers were run, the numbers showed that women weren't CHOOSING to run for office.
That, didn't stop the feminists from making all kinds of disgusting and childish assertions. They asserted that women weren't "choosing" to run for office because they knew they'd be subjected to horrid, chauvinistic treatment from MALES.
IOW, Miss Cleo's magic ball rhetoric. It's crap. It amounts to feminists saying: Take us seriously, but don't ever base your opinions on the hard facts: "Elect females to office, anyway, regardless of facts." IOW, elect females but only because they have vaginas.
Truly stupid stuff!
Its not surprizing the publication in the capital of litigious enlightenment uses mush heads like McNally to promote their agenda. Does anyone have a pix of this guy so everyone knows what he looks like, Does he really exist or is he a senior member of a legal firm feeding off the federal trough promoting litigation ?

You spelled "Capital Times" incorrectly.
I read the excerpt and thought, "Whoa... 'Capitol Times' is really lowering their standards. This assclown McNally sounds like a college kid who ate too much sugar." Then I clicked on the link and saw that the source was actually 'Capital Times' (no 'o'). Quite different. McNally IS a college kid who ate too much sugar.
Yikes! Look at that fossil! I swore he had to be a college kid, based on the quality of the writing.

We already knew that. Nothing has changed in the 30 or 40 years that blacks have been given these preferences, they are no more nearer to being able to compete on an equal footing today than they were 40 years ago.
Of course ,according to this writer I am sure that is also the fault of the evil White man.

I believe it states pretty clearly exactly what I mean.
Now please tell me why ,if blacks can compete intellectually with whites, why affirmative action is needed. If two people write the same test score why should anyone look at the race of the writer? If one writes a higher test score that is the person who should get the seat or the job, or whatever the test was taken for.
When you establish a quota you are not being fair to the person who wrote the best score by favoring the person needed to fill that quota.
It is not I who say that blacks have lower test scores. It is the proven fact. It is the basis for lowering standards to fullfill quota's.
Many blacks have a very high intellect, perhaps it is their background or parentage,or environment which gave them this knowledge and intellect,however it is not up to me to to determine what gave them this superiority over others, I can just state the fact that we have had affirmative action for at least 40 years and still the majority of blacks need it to find spots they cannot meet the regular standard to fill.
Why havent they reached the same level? I am sure we could argue that for months and still not solve the problem.
However we must ask how much longer must we turn over slots to people who are less capable, how much longer will we need affirmative action, when does it end,or does it go on forever. Will affirmative action be needed for another 40 years ? A hundred years? Much like the liberals want an exit strategy in Iraq, we want an exit strategy from affirmative action.
No argument from me. This is what I presumed you had meant in your post #6 to the other poster. And I've seen many of the same social pathologies you describe. I do not have any idea why Della Street chose to address me when her question should have been directed to you.
However, should Della Street be lurking, perhaps yours to me will suffice in responding to her upsettedness.
From my corner of the world, when LBJ enacted his War on Poverty, it came included with preferential quotas for females, not blacks. And liberal social feminists entered and indoctrinated areas of the country with higher black density. And dumbed down their schools, encouraged abortion and libertine philosophies.
And racialists jumped on the bandwagon, joining hands with the libertine feminists to assert, perpetually "discrimination" against blacks continues! The dumbing down of education, and the tearing apart of the once VERY strong black family was the blight visited upon all of us by liberals. The repeated demands for "quotas" is just another call to bury the black family even more. And, this agenda has been supported by Democrats for a long time.
I'm glad you read through the thread and caught the post I had also directed to you; but hadn't really been careful in noticing the "2002" at end of your monicker. Apologies.
I'm sure a nice debate and/or discussion of current events and the U.S. constitution between McNally and Connerly or another opposer of affirmative discrimination, Thomas Sowell, and we'll see who is the smartest. I guarantee you it won't be McNally.
Me too since it only serves as an extremely bitter experienent by the socialists. AA is serving as a depilitating barrier to farther social maturity. I can attest to the uselessness of this program being that I'm black and I never needed this shameful device. I realize that it is there just to prepetutate the idea of an imagined equality without anything real development.
I will fight AA every chance I get because it only makes blacks look really, really stupid when you have Asians doing pretty well in the midst of the sea of "white prevailage". If you notice many real winners that are of African decent like Condi Rice, Collin Powell and so many others you see they are discounted as not being "black" enough.
This is their problem, being "black" many times mines being loud, irrational and simple. I hate that because so called "Uncle Toms" are the people that need to be emulated not some thug(2Pac), or some singer(James Brown), or some athelite(fill in the blank).
How this level of ignorance is allowed to waterdown the school system I don't know but I hope we can slap the victim mentality out of the "hood".
Actually, here in MI, UofM, MSU, and WSU got together and asked for an extension before implementing Prop 2-and got it. And Detroit/Lansing are trying to argue that AA is a federal law, not state law - so technically, they don't have to comply with Prop 2 when it comes to contracting services.
Just because we voted for it/won, doesn't mean that the libs are letting go of it without a fight. We are going to be fighting this out for a long time to come -
It looks like this round of fighting is going to be a lot worse than the election was....
