I just saw Betty's profile in the limousine. She is so sweet and brave. Praying for you, Betty.

This was a beautiful, solemn and stately ceremony.

I don't like the peeping tom camera shot into Mrs. Ford's car.

Do you remember Pat Nixon's funeral?

My heart just broke for Richard Nixon

President Ford was a good man, though I didn't agree with him on some things.

Wow. Right on the money! From Wikipedia: "On October 15, 1948 Elizabeth Bloomer Warren married Gerald R. Ford Jr., a lawyer and World War II veteran, at Grace Episcopal Church, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. "

Thanks for looking it up. I guess someone mentioned it in the reporting and it stayed in my mind. I am only one year older than their marriage.

Oh yes, I agree with that. I love our Catholic funerals... but afterward, it often doesn't take more than 10 toasts to the departed before the arguing commences.

I made it to the TV right before "Hail to the Chief" Almost wished I didn't, pass me a Kleenex.

I was watching the grandchildren. You can tell they mourn their Grandpa.

Can you imagine the overwhelming awe the State Funeral must be for them? These ceremonies represent everyting right with our country (IMHO), the respect, the dignity, etc. And to see your Grandfather honored in such a way has to be a powerful moment.

Who knows....I know the casket has been open for all three.

I have no idea if today's was the last one or not, luckily Fox didn't stay on it...they went to California...and covered all of the other news.
