I remember the abortion brouhaha.

Quite a stir it caused. (Someone please correct me if I am wrong) In response to a question, Mrs.Ford said she would not turn away from her daughter if she had an abortion.

Quite a statement for those times. Mrs Ford was quite outspoken, she spoke her mind and not everyone agreed with her. But she remained true to herself.

I remember that; for those of you who don't, you can all imagine the kind of "reception" that got from the so called "base."

I don't really remember that about abortion.

I am glad that VP Cheney commented about the contributions Mrs. Ford made also. Two family members have struggled with the demon in the bottle and I think her talking about her problem made it something to be tackled vs. swept under the rug.
