I can't help but think that this speech was the opening salvo in the campaign against Hillary.
So much of the animosity that he dates to Watergate could be laid at her feet. Remember how when she was on staff for the Judiciary Committee that she was trying to write rules that Nixon couldn't even have legal representation??
The guy who was her boss wrote up a bad reference for her, preventing her from working on the Hill after the resignation. I wonder if that had something to do with the timing of her move to Arkansas.

Didn't she also fail the bar exam several times in DC and that was one of the reasons she moved to Arkansas as theirs was much easier to pass?
