m'Lady, I have no doubt that a man's religious proclamations will not define your vote. His secular positions, on the other hand ...

I haven't watched Leno in ages. I guess you know we have hijacked another thread totally off topic.

LOL, don't know what topic some of these things we post would even fall into!

Funny.

[In 2000 and in 2004. Bush's wins are attributable to backlash among swing voters who simply lost patience with the far left]

I can agree with this if by saying "lost patience with the far left" you mean couldn't hold their noses tightly enough to actually vote for their chosen candidates. :^)

And the Democrat Party is going to have the same problem in '08 trying to find a candidate who is palatable to the public and not just in liberal meccas like San Francisco and Madison and Boston.

Probably would have been better to lead with the financial problems...then the personal, religious issues.

Left as is, it smacks of HaterAde and easily dismissible.

I agree .. the whole religion thing will backfire on us if we used it

Seems Mr. Obama has many other issues that need looking into

Sorry, I should have copied the source, but I didn't. But you can do the math, yourself. If Barack Hussein Obama, Sr. returned to Kenya in the mid to early seventies, and worked as an economic minister, he worked in the regime of Yomo Kenyatta. If he returned to Kenya after '78, he worked for the Moi regime, which wasn't any better, possibly worse.

If you do the math, you would see that the Mau Mau "Emergency" (as the British called it) ended in 1960. The "Kenyatta regime" (as you call it) did not begin until 1963.

I guess this is another case of multi-culti moral relativity, one man's violent Mau Mau is another man's freedom fighter. But the fact remains that Jomo Kenyatta was a British educated Mau Mau.

From BBC:

1952: Kenyatta arrested in security raid
Leading African nationalist Jomo Kenyatta has been arrested following the declaration of a state of emergency in the British colony of Kenya.

1952: Kenyatta arrested in security raid
Leading African nationalist Jomo Kenyatta has been arrested following the declaration of a state of emergency in the British colony of Kenya.

He was among about 100 prominent Kenyans detained in the past 24 hours as part of a clampdown on the rebel Mau Mau movement.

The Mau Mau is demanding immediate self-government and is blamed for the mounting "lawlessness, violence and disorder" in the colony.

Jomo Kenyatta stands accused of leading the extremist wing of the Mau Mau and of inciting hatred and violence against Europeans through a series of oaths of allegiance.

I guess yours is another case of multi-culti moral relativity, where accusation equals guilt.

Nevertheless, the facts are that there was no Mau Mau when Kenyatta was president, nor is there any proof that he ever led the movement. Furthermore, it is far-fetched at best to suggest that Barack Sr., an ethnic Luo, played any role at all in the Kikuyu Mau Mau Emergency.

According to the BBC, Kenyatta was arrested as being a leader of the Mau Maus. Barack Obama, Sr. was minister of economics in the administration of Jomo Kenyatta, after Kenyatta's ascendency to power, following the Mau Mau revolt. So, while Jomo Kenyatta was a Mau Mau, and his power resulted from the Mau Mau revolt, his regime was not technically the Mau Mau regime.

But you can't say that Barack Obama was not an minister of economics in the regime of Jomo Kenyatta, the infamous Mau Mau.

"Arrested" and "convicted" mean two very different things when we live under the rule of Law.

You can't say that Dick Cheney was Vice President under George Bush, of the unprofitable Arbusto Energy, but that doesn't mean anything either.

Get used to hearing it, Barack Obama's father was a minister of economics in the regime of the infamous Mau Mau, Jomo Kenyatta.

If you think Tom DeLay is a model for anything it is ONLY as a dumbass. He is a disaster from every point of view.

Nominating people like him would make certain that the GOP will lose in 08.

That is some serious dreaming there. Conservatives have NO leader capable of winning the nomination. In fact, there none that could even get close. Much of the best conservative voices were eliminated from the Congress.

Republicans did not stop voting for Republicans in 06. However, the Treason media convinced the moderate democrats and Independents that the GOP was too radically right for them. That is why the election was lost.

Nor will the electorate be informed enough about any prospective RAT misdeeds to "anger" voters enough to turn on the RATS. This last election was won by the Treason media and nothing will change until it is neutered.

Very few votes will be won on a plank of reducing the size of government. Although it is an ancient claim of almost all politicians since the very beginning that doesn't change the fact that government grows because the voters WANT it to grow and because society grows more complex.

The problem is that it isn't a lie, but don't worry because if Obama gets too far ahead of Hillary, the Clinton smear campaign will kick into action and Barack Jr. will become the equivalent of a 21st century Mau Mau.

I'm just curious, were the Mau Maus Muslim? Maybe that's when Barack, Sr. became an atheist.
