Once you have committed yourself to a group that is all 50+ years of age, physical fitness requirements are pretty much down the drain. Although I'm a big guy, at 50+ I'm not likely to win a fight with a fit 20 year old. If my life depends on it, I'll just shoot him
I was thinking more of qualities like being able to keep cool in a crisis, having "command presence", having an instinct for when things are not quite right and people who are not who they appear to be, etc. Qualities of a senior line NCO

Well, good for her. All Englishmen and women should thank her for her service to her country and wish her well. Who ever she is I send her a big salute.Don't salute Commonwealth warrant officers.
Like everyone else, I deplore this creeping ultra-PC feminism. Next thing you know, the Brits will have female prime ministers, or even queens instead of kings. I think it's all the artificial estrogen in the beef.

She began as a weapons artificer.. What we call an armorer. She upgunned to arty and was a warrant officer/ chief artificer/ instructor at the RA School at in Wiltshire.
Without maintainers, armies grind to dust in no time...
