Male. Between 20 and 30. I'm usually identified as a conservative. On this forum, you could probably accuse me of being a libertarian. But that's okay.

I like science. I like peer reviewed journals and the recommendations of national scientific agencies like the USGS, CDC, and FDA. They're not perfect, but they beat non-scholarly non-official sources 99 and 44/100 times out of 100.

I'm not too concerned about global warming; even if it exists and if it is anthropogenic, I don't think dismantling the economy of the developed worlds in a fanciful geo-engineering scheme is a very good idea. I am not convinced that AGW would be sufficiently harmful, or that we could not adapt to a slightly warmer world.

Yes, we evolved from furry creatures in Africa. Genesis is a polemic myth intended to separate the Israelites from the traditions of the Egyptians. Joseph settled at On (Heliopolis), a cult center of an Egyptian creator god. He was there grafted onto the Egyptian elite, and the Egyptian creation myths entered Israelite consciousness. Moses was reintroduced to the Hebrew God by Jethro and, recognizing the need to supplant the Egyptian creators from Israelite consciousness, promulgated two creation myths based on the forms of the Egyptian myths but surprisingly replacing the Egyptian gods with the Hebrew God. See this article presented at DTS.

(That's actually a pretty conservative theory, and I can think of a few objections. But I like it, and I think with some elaboration it could be fairly convincing. Naturally, it is a historical explanation of the text, and says nothing for or against Divine inspiration or purposes.)
