Bush control spending? Start with that prescription drug extravaganza?

Is it less expensive to fund medication that prevents hospitalization or not, and then fund the hospital stay? The total cost of the prescription drugs that are funded by the feds need to be weighed against the cost of hospital stays that are prevented.

If all you have is a hammer, everythng looks like a nail.

Prescription drugs often cause as much harm as good. Just ask any doctor how many drugs they prescribe to lessen the side effects of the primary drug prescription. Plavix is a prime example.

The Medicare prescription drug bill increased the unfunded liability by about $35 TRILLION.

You sound like my wife trying to explain how much she saved us shopping during a sale. As I tell her when the bills show up,

"We can't afford to save any more money this way!"
