Navy eh? Does that mean the troop surge is another carrier battle group? Nah...that won't get rid of the guerrillas operating in the cities...maybe for Iran though...
Excellent.
Especially in the case of Petraeus. He's exactly what we need - and one of the missing ingredients for victory.
In every other major American war, the winning Generals were people who rose quickly as a result of the war.
From Division Commander to Theatre Commander in three and a half years - that's an awfully big jump, in the modern Army. And it's exactly what's needed.

What a winner. This dude's been there / done that. Good!
Another good'n.
Be Seeing You,
Chris
And, according to Wikipedia, Jim Mattis is the Commander of the Marine Forces under Centcom.
Combat soliders - ones who led Divisions - or even smaller units - in combat, that's what has been missing for some time.
Everything is happening at once.
I thought CENTCOM was rotated between Army & Marine generals? I guess it is... until they pick a Navy Admiral. When was the last time the picked a Theater Commander from the list of existing Theater Commanders? You'd probably have to go back to Creighton Abrams or someone like that.
Time to kick A**!!!!
Well they say, you don't know if a general can fight in the combat situation you put him in until the war starts.
I think Bush is stealing some of Nancy's spotlight. That aught to really tick her off! It was supposed to be HER day!!
Interesting timing. Despite Dominatrix Pelosi's hot air speech today, this move shows the nation who is still in charge.
Bush is CIC for two more years. Take that, Pelosi!
Can you tell me more about his wins?
Thanks!
