Saddam “Personal Memoirs” talk about his work to “Islamize” the Baath Party (Translation)
Al Arabiya TV (Translation) | Januray 4 2007 | Khaled Ouwaise

Posted on 01/04/2007 6:59:17 PM PST by jveritas

This article was published today January 4 2007 on Al Arabiya website. Al Arabiya the an Arabic news satellite TV and it is the major rival to Al Jazeera in the Arab world. This article talks about some of “Saddam Memoirs” that he wrote in prison cell and in these meoirs Saddam talked about his work to “Islamize the Baath Party” and convinced (i.e. forced) the Baath Party founder Michel Afflak who was a Christian to convert to Islam. Well this should put an end to the LIE of Saddam the “Secularist” that the left wing liberal media has been spewing for many years and according to them this “Secularist” Saddam cannot possibly deal with “Islamic terrorist groups”.

Below is a partial translation of the Article

Dubai-Khaled Owaise (Al Arabiya TV) Thursday January 4 2007

He wrote about how he convinced Afflak to convert to Islam. Saddam “Last Papers” talk about his work to “Islamize” the Baath Party

In his own handwriting, and in dry ink pen, and on yellow papers written in his journal that he had in his prison cell where he spent the last years of his life, the ex-Iraqi President Saddam Hussein tried to apparently write his memoirs where he talked about his efforts to Islamize the Baath Party and how he convinced the party most important intellectual “Michel Afflak” to convert to islam

But the left will continue to insist that Saddam was secular.

Despite the fact that he wrote the Koran in his own blood! It took him three years.

Saddam's memoirs will be #1 bestseller for the libs in this country. Another in a long line of anti-american dictators they worship.

And do not forget that he put " Allah Akbar" on the Iraqi flag in 1990 just before the Desert Storm war.

I wouldn't even read Hitler's memoirs.

I believe it, jveritas. Explains quite a lot. Especially his demeanor at his execution.

Thought for the day:

"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without bloodshed; if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may be even a worse fate. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish then to live as slaves." ~Winston Churchill in a speech before the British Parliament in 1939

I did forget that, jveritas! Thanks so much for the reminder. Honestly, if the Republicans had half the spine and an eighth of the brain of the average freeper, we wouldn't have lost Congress.

However they will not like a lot of Saddam memoirs because he would have revealed himself as the evil terrorist brutal mass murderer and that President Bush will be finally vindicated because he was absolutely right in removing Saddam from power.

He will sugar coat himself but still he will reveal that he killed all the hundred of thousands of innocents Iraqis under the excuse "that they were traitors to Iraq". According to the article the memoirs were given to his daughter Raghda who lives in Jordan but no word on whether it will be published or not. I am sure someone on our side or the Iraqi government side has a copy of Saddam memoirs.

The notion that Saddam and Al Qaeda couldn't get along is simply unfounded leftist propaganda. Nonetheless, they're still repeating it.

Don't for a minute think the leftists in this country care about slaughtering of innocents. The left still reveres the USSR, Castro, Che and Mao.
