Nancy Pelosi - 'most powerful Italian since Caesar'

Filmmaker Peter Kaufman, a friend of Christine Pelosi's, set the tone of the evening's festivities. He quoted someone else he'd heard that day: "She's the most powerful Italian since Caesar.''

Peter Kaufman: "Let me make a motion that Pelosi is the most powerful Italian since Ceasar!"

Anton Scalia: "Overruled!"

The former boss of Chicago's south suburb "outfit" wouldn't have liked it much either.

Albert "Caesar" Tocco.

Perhaps her "friends" will turn on her, too.

All's fair in love and politics.

Shouldn't "results" be a component?

...only for conservatives. For liberals, caring is enough.

Thats ok.

The more she praddles on about her power, and the more her acolytes buy into it, the bigger her fall and failure will be.

In a few years, liberals will be cursing the name Pelosi.

It's just beyond parody. This dolt can't be serious. I'd rank Mrs. Pelosi right alongside Mussolini, myself. And, the only traits Hillary Clinton posseses, that are remotely comparable to the Statue of Liberty, would be her legendary prickliness and a certain stoney, inhuman quality in her eyes. At least the Statue of Liberty is a welcome sight, though.

While she is feeling powerful, someone should advise her to go for the gusto in '08 and run for Presidident.

Come on San Fran Nan, let's see how powerful you are!

Leaving aside a number of Roman emperors that were far more powerful than Julius Caesar (let's just say that "Caesar" covers all of them as it was part of the standard imperial title) then at the very least Pope Innocent III, Pope Gregory I, and Pope Leo III were more powerful. For that matter, Pope Innocent III was more powerful than Julius Caesar and probably the second most powerful Italian ever after only the Emperor Augustus.

And she doesn't wear a pantsuit.
