Why is this, then, an impossible position for Huckabee?

One thing is that the money has gotten real big...real fast if your not a star like Obama or Rudy your DOA financially.

2nd...I think after 16 years the electorate is tired of Southern governors.

Rudy supposedly wants $100 million in his war chest. Realistially you need a big dollop to start: maybe $15 to get to South Carolina. Then many pretenders are gone and the R money flows to the one or two who have a shot.

It's probably harder than starting out with $50 million on July 1, 2007 but still doable.

Remember Dick Army was the clear money leader inthe 2000 (??) GOP primary race and made that famous quip: "I have the best support you can have for a Presidential run, ready cash". and was never heard from again.

Obama is going to be hard to beat no matter who the Rep is. I really wonder about the intelligence of running a 72 year old man against the young, handsome, vibrant, black, asian, bi-racial, sexy, hot (add additional ingratiating MSM descriptions here) "rock star" of our era.

Yeah, I think "no twang" is required diction in this election, too.
