No need to go to that extent. Just keep your hands off of your face, and use an alcohol gel hand disinfectant when needed, like after holding a menu (but before touching silverware and glasses).

I read somewhere that alcohol gel was really not very effective.........Viruses aren't affected by alcohols and most dangerous bacteria just laff at it........

Therein lies the answer. Hands off your face unless they're recently washed and you haven't touched anything even remotely suspect.
