January 11, 2007BREAKING NEWS
We have breaking news to bring you out of West Palm Beach.
A situation is occurring at the Palm Beach County Courthouse. No one is being allowed in or out of the courthouse at this hour due to the discovery of a suspicious substance.
Authorities say around 11:45 this morning, employees in the mailroom located on the bottom floor of the courthouse discovered a substance or white power which fell out of mail.
Five employees wandered near the ninth floor, they have been decontaminated at this point in time.
Phil Kaplan with the West Palm Beach Fire Department: "Anytime we have a suspicious substance like a white powder, like the one found in the mail room in these envelopes, when someone comes in direct contact with it, as a precautionary measure even though we don't know exactly what it is at this point, but we do err on the side of caution. In this case, it was felt that the five people that came in direct contact should be decontaminated. "
The intersection of Banyan Boulevard and Quadrille has been shut down and a decontaminating station has been set up.
The West Palm Beach Fire Department is evaluating the best way to deal with the decontamination and have no additional information on the substance or who the envelopes were intended for.
If you are heading to the courthouse this afternoon you will not be allowed inside.

Wow

That's a lot of pp's.
Tellurium is a relatively rare element, in the same chemical family as oxygen, sulfur, selenium, and polonium (the chalcogens).
From Wikipedia ... any Russians there?

Does anyone know how readily available this chemical is? Applications?
FBI agents en route to the scene have ruled out any possibility of terrorism. Anywhere. Ever.
