Personally, I would have repealed a law closer to the topic at had, such as the law of supply and demand. That would have made the point clearer, I think.

Unfortunately, the law of supply and demand is obviously too obscure for Democrats and a good portion of the American electorate these days.

You're assuming that more than 10% of the population understands the law of supply and demand. Remember, to the democrats, supply and demand translates into tax and spend -- they demand more social programs, taxpayers supply the money.
