"In short, I welcome the influx of Mexicans into America because I believe it will result in a better America."

You do? Even if they came here illegally?

I don't welcome them or any other criminals.

You certainly seem to be concentrating on the "Culture" aspect of "BLC".

You actually make good points that conservative culture should be promoted. No disagrement there.

But do you practice open borders in your home? Can anyone walk in off the street and become NL's new roommate?

Also, you don't mention the "Language" part? Savage sees a danger in promoting multiple languages through ballots, govt documents, etc. Do you share this concern?

I like my amnesty plan!
Please call them INVADERS and don't compare them to people who are legal aliens!
IF you aid and abet CRIMINALS, you are a criminal!

President Bush has been great on most things except for our border.
He has been great on the war on terrorists.
But on the border he is a gross failure.
He acted fast and correct on the 3,000+ people murdered at the world trade center.
He ignores the many rapes, murders and robberies which might be larger than the murders and money loss at the world trade center.
More Americans are abducted on the border of Mexico than in Iraq!

Start building the fence.
It should be made a felony for Criminals who overstay their visas and Invaders.

I believe we should give amnesty to these poor CRIMINALS or INVADERS.
This should be a 2 week amnesty to get the heck out of our Country.
The ones who ignore this amnesty should be buried in a tent city jail and fined $10,000 or buried elsewhere.
All aiders and abettors of these CRIMINALS or INVADERS should get 1 year in a tent city jail and a $10,000 fine for each CRIMINAL aided.
Those in government should be the first ones charged.

"Freedom is God given, but there is no birth right to it. "

If freedom is 'God given' then of course it's a 'birth right'.

If I may dust off this old chestnut "Many of my best friends are Hispanic." And waving the wand to make the illegals official doesn't bother me because we can use their help in repelling the muslim Hordes. But Jeez man we gotta know who's coming across our border.

[ Savage has it Wrong. ]

So true.. Savage misses that conservatives are mostly socialists.. And conservatism is democractic(Mob Rule) with just as many mobsters as democrats have...

Savage is way too nice to conservatives..
Savage is in denial somewhat.. but he has glimpses of lucidity..
And sees conservative socialism for what it is.. occasionally..

We have to judge people as individuals and either accept or reject them based upon the decisions they make and the values they demonstrate.

If a person enters the country illegally, I can determine, with 100% accuracy, that they have broken the law. Their decision to break the law makes them as a criminal. The value that they have demonstrated is that American laws are optional and that their legal relativism has no place in our society.

If a person enters the country legally (via legal immigration or work permit), then we've gained the opportunity to judge them appropriately.

Contemporary Catholic Understanding
The Roman Catholic Church continues to hold the view of natural law set forth by Thomas Aquinas, particularly in his Summa Theologiae, and often as filtered through the School of Salamanca. This view is also shared by some Protestant churches.[citation needed]

They understand human beings to consist of body and mind, the physical and the non-physical (or soul perhaps), and that the two are inextricably linked. Humans are capable of discerning the difference between good and evil because they have a conscience. There are many manifestations of the good that we can pursue. Some, like procreation, are common to other animals, while others, like the pursuit of truth, are inclinations peculiar to the capacities of human beings." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natural_law

Life in Mexico can be nasty, brutish and short, Natural law; I'll stick to USC Title 8 (and I wish the president and Congress would, as well) but thanks for the sermon.

I hate to burst your self-righteous bubble, but what exactly is the point of your statement about Mexicans being 'generally law abiding' when the point of concern on this issue is people who come here illegally. Those who come here illegally, by definition, are not law abiding.

The statement, when used as an argument, is also patently absurd. One must also remember that any group can be categorized thusly - most people are in fact law abiding. I know of no identifiable racial demographic where an argument could be made that the majority of the members were in fact criminal.

Now for my own self-righteous rant.
When your argument is centered on stereotypes and generalities, absurdly obvious statements, and clear personal bias it simply lacks credence. Another point on the inanity of your arguments - What does it matter whether people have chosen to have children, or whether or not they have been thusly blessed? (Have you been hanging out with Sen Boxer??)

'Your America', as you describe it, is an America without borders, which means it cannot possibly be governed, which means, regardless of your rant, that no constitution can center and sustain it. Therefore it is also an America without rights. Your America also seems hinged on religion and service attendance - is attendance at mass mandatory to be one of 'your' Americans? What of other Christians who eschew mass for other denominational services? Can an atheist or an agnostic be an American? Finally, it is also an America without dissent, since you don't share it with liberals, and what is America without peaceful if sometimes vitriolic dissent?

.

Good luck in creating your amorphous theocratic totalitarian utopia.

Sounds absurd doesn't it?
Certainly it does, but that is exactly what you have described whether you know it or not. Thank you, but no, I'll just keep this America - you can have yours all to yourself.

Savage makes a some strange arguments. Yesterday, I heard some of his new solution to Iraq. It went like this. Pull out and let it be Iran's quagmire. The day before he wanted to flatten an Bar province. I'm sure today he'll have a new plan.

He's right that we greatly benefit from one language. We all can communicate with each other and this benefits us from advertising, to emergencies, in business, education, and in countless other ways. It makes us one people even if we don't agree.

I've no problem with us controlling our borders or for that matter for any sovereign nation doing so. It makes sense especially now when we face serious terrorists threats. These threats will grow before they're destroyed.

As for most Hispanic immigrants, we greatly benefit from their immigration. Some rational, humane, and efficient method is needed to benefit both sides of the border.

Proof that liberalism is indeed a mental disease.

Try not to leave your "little brain" in charge of your philosophy next time.

In short, I welcome the influx of Mexicans into America because I believe it will result in a better America. They serve honorably and courageously in numbers far greater than their demographics would warrant. They are generally law abiding, socially conservative, hard working family and community oriented. I would exchange them for native born liberals and faux conservatives any day.

If they come here legally, fine. Otherwise they are breaking the law and go against your own argument - We have to judge people as individuals and either accept or reject them based upon the decisions they make and the values they demonstrate.

First, we should reject them if they are NOT law-abiding, right?

Perhaps at legal immigration levels, but not at the levels of illegal immigration we have seen over the last 10-12 years. The "Melting Pot" is overwhelmed, and it shows in towns like Caruthers, CA, Orange Cove, CA, South Fresno, etc. They are the American versions of Tijuana and Nuevo Laredo...rife with crime and gangs, political corruption and decay.

I prefer the US Penal Code to any flawed interpretations of "natural" law.

If they're illegal, we don't want them. Period.

Do it the right way or not at all.

"In short, I welcome the influx of Mexicans into America because I believe it will result in a better America."

1) A high percentage of them vote Donkey. ....so after the amnesty (which will instantly create tens of millions of new voters, many of whom are addicted to taxpayer freebees -- iow, natural Donk voters) you can kiss the GOP adios.

2) The loyalty of most Mexicans currently residing in America lies with their country of birth, and now that they're here in such overwhelming numbers they don't even feel the need to assimilate -- they can spend their entire lives up here speaking nothing but Spanish, and our politically correct society encourages it.

3) The illegal alien/Mexican crime rate is extraordinarily high.

Better for America? Hardly.
