Claims to be a member of the NRA but won't say when he joined. (I'll go out on a limb and guess within the past 2.5 years.) On Monday he claimed to own a gun, now says he doesn't.

Mein Gott in Himmel, does Romney think he has a chance?

Some people are deluded enough to think he has a chance.

The same way they believe gun grabbing rudy has a chance.

Whatever happens with my support for Mitt, it has never, will not, and will never, be influences one IOTA by the Boston Glob. The Boston Glob has been out of my life since terminating my subscription some umpteen years ago, and won't ever even crawl its way back in.

The Boston Globe wants him to be a RINO now so that republicans don't nominate him.

If nominated, the Globe will want him to seem as radically right-wing as possible.

In 1967, Gov Ronald Reagan signed the Mulford Act which prohibited the carrying of firearm's on one's person or in a vehicle, in any public place or any public street.

Later, he supported the Brady Bill. "I support the Brady Bil...and I urge the Congress to enact it without it without further delay." March 28, 1991

Sometimes people make mistakes. In some cases people do honestly change their opinions. In either case, they can still make good Presidents as was the case with Reagan.

No serious candidate, Democrat or Republican, is going to run on a pro-gun control platform, period.

In his 1994 US Senate run, Romney backed two gun-control measures strongly opposed by the National Rifle Association and other gun-rights groups: the Brady Bill, which imposed a five-day waiting period on gun sales, and a ban on certain assault weapons.

snip

Also, in 2005, Romney designated May 7 as "The Right to Bear Arms Day" in Massachusetts to honor "the right of decent, law-abiding citizens to own and use firearms in defense of their families, persons, and property and for all lawful purposes, including the common defense."

11 years later he changes his position. It isn't the first time a politician has moderated their position.

Personally, I'd give him a pass on this issues as of now, but time will tell

I'm sure that he has enough money and little enough sense to be a life member. It'll be his little secret, kept just between him and the National Reasonable-regulation Asses.

Either we are equal or we are not. Good people ought to be armed where they will, with wits and guns and the truth. NRA KMA

Freed from having to struggle with the inmates of the liberal loon zoo known as Massachusetts Romney is staking out strong conservative positions across the board. Good!

As was also true with Ronald Reagan, it doesn't matter where you start. What matters is where you end up. Too many start right and end up left.

Look at Romney's personal life for validation. That's where the truth is. He's an enormously savvy businessman whose leadership and policies would bring continued prosperity to this country. He's a devout family man who can be counted on to uphold and strenghten traditional families and protect them from the predations of the left.

On the Second Amendment he is more gun friendly than even Ronald Reagan who, after all, was a strong supporter of the Brady Bill.

And when FR's most notorious social liberal troll, Torie, hates him, you know he's on the right track.
