Never would. A 'damn yankee' to me is one of two things. Someone who comes down here, stays, and doesn't at least respect our traditions. You don't necessarily have to like them but you have to respect them. This includes complaining that you can't have too many bagel shops. Or it's someone who
doesn't come down here but still thinks they know better how we should live and what we should respect.
Either way, they're telling other people how they should live. The busybodies can stay north of the line.

A 'damn yankee' to me is one of two things. Someone who comes down here, stays, and doesn't at least respect our traditions. It is a great consolation to me knowing that their children will grow up speaking with a southern twang and loving everything about the South that the parents hated.
