But what if there was something more sinister behind fashion designers efforts to foist anorexic chic as the female archetype: Stop heteros (AKA breeders) from having children. Yes, I'm sure the fashion industry is all one big homosexual conspiracy to keep heteros from breeding...< /sarcasm>
Seriously, I doubt 1% of fashion designers understand anything as complicated as the effects of nutrition on reproductive biology.

Honestly, I have to agree with you. I never really looked at those women closely; always just a billboard I'd zoom by or something like that. I was kind of thinking what you just posted - I guess I just remembered them bigger since they are so different from what the advertising goobers usually show us. Step in the right direction, at least.

Gay men rule the fashion industry, and it is possible that androgynous models are the only women who do not repulse them. We knew this :-).

On a subconsciouse level they might feel that if they can't breed, why should we? I am not a Fruedian but this might be one motivation among many.

UGH!!!!
Hello?? Thin is one thing, but there are bones that I just DON'T want to see. The reason that skeletons hang out on Halloween is because they're SCARY to look at, and no amount of lipstick, blush or eyeshadow is going to change that.
DAMN! And I thought "herion chic" was the low point of the fashion industry.

Brazils most successful fashion model, Ana Carolina Reston, was 5 8 tall and just 88 pounds when she died of anorexia-related complications at the age of 21. Umm, Gisele Bundchen is also from Brazil, and has got to be much more successful as a model than whoever this young woman was.

I know. I have heard many masters of the Violin add the most impressive notes while plucking the strings.LOL! I agree with you that once the rosin is applied to the bow and virtuosos applies the bow to the strings, we who are privileged to witness and hear what ensues must remember and respect the fact that we are in reality intruders into a most intimate interlude.

Plus Brazilian men are not alone in their appreciation of curvy women. When a well-endowed woman walks down the street, heterosexual men worldwide instinctively swivel their heads to see whether she has a sexy ass, too. No man bothers to turn his head when a flat-chested woman goes by, because her backside is likely to be equally disappointing."Haha....except these days I've seen plenty of women with large "enhanced" chests...and no backside to speak of....the anorexic ones look like they're about to tip over.

The headlights of a self-centered, hedonistic culture are the fashion industry.

Of course one can always go too far in either direction (the bow or the hourglass)

No, those two need the room. I was eavedropping. LOL!

Barbie has a stereotyped hourglass figure not stick figure.
I think the paper is confusing the two.
The fashion industry has the emaciated look as a means of just getting a job. It is tradgic, to get jobs in order to eat you have to starve to death.

In a healthy growing society, people are interested in women who make babies. That means fat, and fat makes curves. Fat = curvy = babies. In an unhealthy society people are more interested in sexual acrobats than baby makers. They are preoccupied with "little brown f*n machines". They harp about liberation and equality to entice the women away from their natural inclinations to reproduce the species. Their ideal body shape looks like a slingshot.
What we are watching is the collapse of most of the world's cultures. This seems to be a natural phenomenon, since every culture in history has eventually collapsed. No culture has ever escaped the collapse, and it always happens in more or less the same manner. Morality, religion, tradition, family values, art, wisdom, all are rejected. The society goes into a dark age and even the old language is forgotten. Eventually a new culture arises from the wreckage of the old. You can watch it as it happens HERE. Download the free book. It's fascinating.
