I cannot believe how many women I run into who are single mothers by choice.

Well when they have the $$$ from the father and none of the obligations; I'm sure they are happy.

Child support collection makes the IRS look tame.

lots easier to get all the welfare when single. free food, cash assistance, medical insurance, cheap housing, utilities paid, free daycare, huge tax breaks, etc.
also, child support is not counted when looking at their income. A woman could be getting thousands a month in child support, but working part time for low pay, and get everything handed to her by the government. All she has to pay for is her car.

I can't believe how badly most of them want a date.

they can get the financial support through alimony and child support, with none of the responsibilities associated with having the husband living at home. in many cases, this was exactly the reason they got married in the first place - this was their plan.

Men make choices as well---something this article overlooked completely---and I think many have decided against the vicissitudes of marriage.

Think about the next generation of kids. It will get interesting in about 20 years.

I know what you mean. I was sitting down eating someplace, and i saw three women, all about 25-30 (babes i must add). All three were pushing strollers and all three had no wedding ring on. Kind of a depressing sight.

I am just so happy, I am NOT one of them.

The product of hearing since about birth that

1. All men are sub-human

2. You need a man like a fish needs a bicycle (IIRC, that's Gloria Steinem's
old saying...before she got married)

3. The US government and your state government will help you with
Earned Income Credit and a multiplicity of aid...made fatter by
not having an able-bodied adult male in the house

4. And the lesbian life-style is very, very cool.

5. And dare I say, as a male...seeing what jack-@$$es some of my
brothers are...I almost understand the choice.
As much as I despair of it.
