"Critics seem not to be concerned about anything beyond the 2008 elections."
Pretty much sums up the anti war politicians. Sowell is a very clear thinking journalist. A trait that has been passed overlooked by most journalists.

All stops are out now for the left, the dems and the msm. "Iraq is a failure, a catastrophe of monumental proportions". This message will be with us 24/7 to the very end.
We will win, but the cost will be much greater because of these nitwits.

The most fundamental difference between President Bush and his critics has not been in who has made mistakes, because both have. The biggest difference has been that the President has taken a long-run view of the worldwide war on terror, while his critics are seeking a quick fix. The deadlines of journalism make superficiality an ineluctable characteristic of journalism. And "liberals" are merely journalists who don't have a job in journalism. If, holding the same perspective, they did have a job in journalism, they'd be called "objective."

(The idea around which liberalism coheres is that NOTHING actually matters except PR.)
