June 20, 2004 Port au Prince, Haiti Capt Shawn Courty, a Reserve Civil Military Cooperation (CIMIC) Officer with the 2nd Battalion of the Royal Canadian Regiment (2RCR), shows Haitian children some photos of his family and Canada during a visit at a local orphanage in Port au Prince.------------------------------- "When not busy serving his country as a reservist, the Saint John, New Brunswick, native is an Emergency Response Security member for NB Power's Pointe Lepreau Nuclear Power facility."------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ So, I understand this to mean they gave him time off to go to Haiti---but refused to give him the same time off to go to Afghanistan.

Political correctness, Canadian style. Haiti is a French speaking country. Must not upset les francophones in Canada.
