"I saw the Weather Channel garbage in the last month or so. They and Discovery have become the junk-science channel. Too bad, they used to be respectable."

***

And the Weather Channel forecasts are notoriously inaccurate too.

Yep, I think they just copy the National Weather Service wild guess and run with it.

One day I was joking with one of my Revenue Accountants about computerized weather forecasts. His father was a meteorologist assigned to the DFW Airport weather station.

I mentioned that when I was a kid there were no weather satellites, weather radars and computers. The weatherman would check his barometer, look at the sky, check his thermoeter and make his prediction for the next 24 hours, and most times he was wrong.

Now, Today, a weatherman can use satellite photos/sensors, check the doppler radar and make 7 day forecasts. Ain't it amazing I announced.

Todays weatherman can be wrong 7 days in advance.

He told his father this anecdote and told me that this observation was posted on the bulletin board at the weather station.

"I'm published!"
