Saturday Shows For January 20, 2007
Below are the topics and guests announced for these programs, along with my take on the "memes" that the shows are trying to push. With each guest's name are a series of links that I found in a web search that helped me get a handle on who they are and what their likely positions will be when they are interviewed.
The Beltway Boys (Mort Kondrake, Fred Barnes)
- Meme:
- The DBM only talks to critics of Bush (and some really lame supporters) therefore this is hugh and serious... really... we mean it!
- Woops. Maybe we've gone too far in promoting Obama so that the race will be over before the ratings come in, so lets promote Hillary a while.
- Lets pre-critique the State of the Union address so that we all know what to think regardless of what is said.
- Topics:
- Near revolt on Capitol Hill over Bush's new Iraq plan! Will the Dems move to block his new strategy or is it all posturing?
- Hillary Clinton tries to get her groove back after Obama-mania!
- Beltway Boys contact information beltway@foxnews.com
- The program airs on FOX News Channel Saturdays at 6 and 11:30 p.m. ET
CNBC's Tim Russert Show (Tim Russert)
- Meme:
- Wildly entertaining. Yep. That's a good euphemism for "out of control." Let's start using that one for Olberman and Matthews, too.
- Topics:
- CNBCs wildly entertaining financial guru Jim Cramer about his book, "Mad Money, Watch TV and Get Rich!"
- Guests
- CNBC's Tim Russert Show airs Saturday at 7pm, 10pm & 1am ET
Fox News Watch (Eric Burns)
- Meme:

- How dare the tabloid media intrude on these people! So let's intrude on them ourselves.
- Crisis in America. There's one show (one!) that might not reflect the anti-Bush hysteria we expect all right thinking people to hold as true.
- Topics:
- Obama's Secrets: Are the media already taking aim at Sen. Barack Obama?
- Boys Founds: Are media helping or hurting two kidnapped boys?
- TV Show or Hidden Message? Controversy over season 6 of '24'

Journal Editorial Report (Paul Gigot) - FNC show page

- Did anyone else notice that there was an indictment in the largest scandal in the planet's history? Anyone?
- Yet another book that the powers that be in Washington won't be reading about the Middle East.
- Topics:

PingThe Weekend Talk Show Preview Thread is up
If you want on or off of my ping list please FReepmail me
It will (probably) also cross posted (eventually) to my blog at
http://wizards.townhall.com/
Here's a sample of my usual witty commentary...
The 100 hours are over and it looks like the "triumphant and all powerful" Dhimmicrats will make absolutely no difference in the corruption in Washington in the long run. They have gotten tied up in obviously meaningless measures and then got caught trying to block earmark reform red handed. They have been made to look both extreme and partisan in their rhetoric and Nazi like in their grotesque behavior ... Therefore the DBM (drive by media) must change the subject! It's a moral imperative.
Accordingly the Iraq surge escalation is the only topic to be discussed by the DBM this week. And pretty much the deck is stacked on the shows with opponents, particularly highlighting Republican opponents. After all, they must reward those who will kowtow to their ideological positions. And that sets the stage for the message they want to push, that THE CONGRESS (all power be unto them), including most Republicans (other than die hard militarists and loony right wingers) oppose not only the surge, but the war in general. ...
... If we lose my sole consolation is to look forward to the reports by the Imams of Right and Virtue who get assigned to the DBM news rooms in the coming years, along with the executions of the apostates and infidels, of course. Ironically I want to spare those anti-American leftist bastards in the DBM that fate by not losing this war. How silly of me.

see if my links on Pence give you a starting point. He looks real good to me, which is why I think they want to equate him to screeching leftist Maxine Waters. They are desperate to denigrate any reasonable conservative voice by making them equal to the extreme left.

Ironically I want to spare those anti-American leftist bastards in the DBM that fate by not losing this war.I don't want to lose this war, I want to win it for all the obvious reasons. But I'm frankly past caring what happens to the media commies who take their gift of freedoms completely for granted.
Isn't it amazing that they think that losing this war wouldn't inconvenience them whatsoever.

'Evening, Phsstpok. I found this in one of your links:
"Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-CA): "I don't care what you call it, a surge, an increase -- what the Republican president is doing is sending reinforcements to Iraq to carry out his plan. And if the Democrats cut off the reinforcements, the American troops will never forgive them and I think the American people will never forgive them. I think the Republican senators should be loud and clear on that issue" ("Hardball," MSNBC, 1/17)."
God bless Duncan Hunter.

Duncan Hunter is a fine man. I have read that he hasn't actually put together an organization yet, however, so I'm not sure how serious he is about this. That said, it is deplorable that people are already running presidential campaigns two year out, or in Hellery's case, for the last 6 years.

Funny, I was thinking the same thing this morning when I turned on the TV and saw that she had announced along with Brownback.
Hard to put into words how disgusted I felt seeing her on the Chintz sofa acting so elegant and motherly, but more that for the last two years of this presidents' term we have to listen to what seems to be half of congress beating up on him to advance their presidential aspirations.
He has had to deal with the Clinton Shadow Government since the day he took office and frankly I think it's been deplorable.
