"A State Department spokesman on Friday said Chavez's reform plans have caused "some concern," describing the proposal allowing presidents to rule by decree as "a bit odd" in a democracy."

I think our current administration has taken the 'remain above the fray' approach way too far. Sometimes you have to call an 'ace an ace' etc. The ridiculous understatement of the above comment is a case in point.

This adminstration has been weak for over six years and always takes the weakling approach whenever faced by an enemy that uses words like our own socialists and the rest-of-world socialists/communists/dictators.

The big problem is that we get alot of oil from Venezuela, a problem that the same SPINELESS WIMPY government will not let us fix --- now I ask, whose side is our government on???

I really cannot tell at times.
