I know that Cotton Mather was an a one of the most influential Puritan ministers in Colonial America, I've read some of his writings but it was so long ago I don't remember specifics. However, I doubt he, or any other priest, minister or rabbi prior to about ten or twenty years ago, ever imagined that a groups promoting homosexuality and bestiality would ever be accepted by even the smallest segment of the American public.

Thanks for that. Other posters also commented on Mathers. I recognized the name, but not the details.

I don't think religious leaders from back in the day, would be able to process what has happened to our society.
