Well....how did that title change happen....a MODerator having FUN ...????
--
Beats me.
Not sure what happened, I had thought of asking to have the 57 captured added initially, didn't do so and then saw it had been added, then a little later , well, uhh, stuff happens... but then I had to bug out for awhile,, glad I caught it before I left.
I may ask for a Congre$$ional investigation. lol
For some reason, I think Charlie Rangel will seriously consider it, if they can squeeze it in, that IS. ;-)

Congress is going to engineer our withdrawal from Iraq, and Al Qaeda will get its first victory of the WOT. Put the blame on Congress.

There are benefits to fighting side by side with the Iraqi Security Forces - they shot first and don't bother asking questions.

The U.S. military said on Monday 93 rebels were killed and 57 captured in a 10-day operation against al Qaeda-linked insurgents northeast of Baghdad.Did the folks who rely on the maindream media for news hear about this?

It appears the old "body count" of enemy bodies is starting to appear.
I miss the old body counts. I slept well as a child. The Pentagon wrongly thought witholding insurgent body counts would be a good Vietnam "lesson learned". Instead, it gave the MSM the opportunity to repeat and amplify US losses without context, and there was no yardstick for the American public to judge US progress.
Every US casualty is an absolute downer but, if we're also putting 20-30 al Qaeda heads to bed in the same firefight, the American public deserves that information too. I think we're past worrying about "inflaming the Arab street".

On the three-minute blurbs that pop up on the talk shows' hard breaks, I heard endlessly about how deadly the last few days in Iraq were.
So no, I think it was the standard "bad news followed by more bad news" from the drive-by media.

Rebel? Were these UNLV Rebels or Ole Miss Rebels?
I had just gotten used to "militant".

Excellent news. The Pentagon should publish the number of terrorists killed everyday.

Syria and Iran are fueling the Iraqi Shi'ite terrorism against our GI's via infiltrating Shi'ite killers from Iran, Syria, (Hezballah controlled areas of Lebanon, plus thugs from Hamas & elsewhere. Saudi Arabia & other Sunni régimes are supporting the Iraqi Sunni terrorists.
Short term solution for our troops is attacking Iran and wipe out the dictatorship as well as all underground & ground level nuclear weapons sites. In terms of Syria, Assad needs to be receiving end of what his Syrian Ba'athist tyranny has been dishing out to US as well as Israel and Lebanon.
Hopefully the plans which are on the drawing board regarding Iran and Syria will be implemented before either outlaw state commits the unthinkable.
