Hilary's a socialist, but there's no need to drag a perfectly valid term, like "the common good," through the mud, even if Hilary uses the term. The notion of "the common good," or "the general Welfare," as it's phrased in the preamble to the US Constitution, has been recognized by all great political philosophers, from Aristotle through St. Thomas Aquinas. Hilary is simply hijacking the term for her own socialist purposes.
>>>Hilary is simply hijacking the term for her own socialist purposes.
She already has. I just point it out.
"General" meant "for everyone", not just those who qualify... and "welfare" had nothing to do with money.
"Hilary's a socialist, but there's no need to drag a perfectly valid term, like "the common good," through the mud, even if Hilary uses the term."
I suggest you read "Atlas Shrugged". There is no valid term as the common good. None what so ever. As a matter of fact Ayn Rand mentions that Common Good is just is evil if a religion was preaching it. Society prospers only when individual rights are protected. The common good is a trade off to the lowest common denominator of humans, and that is need. This creates the illusion the more needy your are, the more glorified you are. READ THE BOOK.
