But Julie Kulesza said: "We weren't giving an opportunity to hold her, console her or anything."

The flight was delayed for 15 mins. What a crock. No wonder the kid behaved like that.

I agree. Sometimes children do get scared and take a long time to get calmed down. However an airline waiting to take off is not the place to find out just how long this might take. Depart the plane, calm your child in a nice quiet place. Then call friends and family to let them know you are taking a later flight.

Wow; only delayed for 15 minutes? Funny thing about flying military - About 15 years ago my average "delay" was about six hours. That's only in the terminal. I've also waited during two hour "delays" on the aircraft. Also traveling on these flights were families with children ranging in age from infant to teens. Military parents seemed to be capable of preventing this sort of behavior.

Before you assume I am talking about the parents being "Tough" let me enlighten you. These parents are seasoned travelers. They brought things to distract the kids, especially the younger ones. The kids had small toys that kept them entertained without annoying the other passengers. There were lots of books too.

The coolest thing I saw was the little ones "helping" mom and dad with the luggage. Alright; they were holding on to the strap but the parents kept them involved and the small ones felt like they were part of the family and not part of the luggage.

Most of these military families understood the challenges from years of doing it on their own before they had children. Couples with kids who are new to the military usually have some of the older ones take them under their wing and give them some helpful advice. Contrary to a certain campaign challenged senator, they ain't undereducated or stuck. They know what they're doing. More; they want to do what they're doing.

Maybe the kid's behavior was the reason the flight had been delayed.

Juvenile delinquents are kids who act like their parents - old adage.

Sorry I don't buy that b.s. for one NY minute. My kids started flying on planes, attending concerts, etc. when they were REALLY little. The rules were clear - YOU SIT DOWN and SIT STILL when you are told. Nothing else was acceptable. My 3 kids are now teenagers. Whenever we go to some sort of public event, such as an annual banquet we went to this past weekend for my husband's acappella chorus, other people (who have raised children) come up and compliment us on parents as to how well our children comport themselves in such company.

The behavior starts EARLY and must be controlled by parents. Or this kid WILL grow up to be a real brat.

I for one am glad they got thrown off the plane. Maybe next time, they'll control their kid a LOT better. AHEM.

Their banning spanking in Calf.

Remember those day of the quick cure?

"you better stop crying or I will give you something to cry for!"

But I did hear the child had some trouble with her ear (an operation or something?) and the father thinks she might of reacted to being in the plane I don't know??

It had to be a blessing to the passengers not to have to endure that and maybe parents will take notice their children have to behave in public.
