I think Bush is just in the wrong place at the wrong time. This was going to happen no matter who was President.

Disagree. It is like Nixon going to China. It takes a Rep President to go along with this to make it happen. The Dems don't want to be stuck with the sole responsibility of such a policy. They know it flys in the face of public opinion, presuming the issue is properly presented.

The Senate Reps voted 32 to 23 AGAINST comprehensive immigration reform. The Rep House voted overwhelming in favor of an eforcement first approach. The WH is at odds with its own party.

You missed the point completely, (jmo).

George W. Bush is a hired hand, he's doing a JOB. He took the job. I like the fellow, but he took the job.

He's doing the job. And you know what THAT job is don't you.
