I wish more GOP politicans would stand up to the media.

The only people who seem to do it are both Dick and Lynne Cheney.

If our people started doing this more often, I wonder how often we could continue to hear ridiculous "questions" like the one Blitzer was trying to ask.

Politicians need the media like an actor needs a mirror, and can't afford to offend them directly.

The only people who seem to do it are both Dick and Lynne Cheney.

Not running, therefore can afford to offend at least a little. (Still in office.)

You wrote, "The only people who seem to do it are both Dick and Lynne Cheney."

I recently saw Lynne Chaney on television fielding intrusive, below-the-belt questions--also (I think) from Wolf Blitzer. She possessed such grace and poise--and intellect--that I found myself feeling suddenly guilty for wishing she was single.

I guess I might as well admit it, since I'm feeling so confessional: I also have a thing for Condoleeza Rice.
