Thanks

BTW Joyce Elliston is an idiot. The local newspaper is a left leaning rag, at best. I have seen more snow, this stuff is just a pain because of bad city management. The current mayor is a Dem, surprise....

Worst I saw was St Paddys Day, '01, IIRC. Snowed 3 feet in 24 hours. I wimped out and took the day off.

I live 40 miles south of Anchorage (in the mountains next to Prince William Sound. We have had 290 inches so far this year (445 inches midway up our ski area. Heavy snow and 60+ mph winds today. Looks like I have to shovel again when I get home tonight!

Stumpys storm - Girdwood; Jan 28 - 31, 2000, 17 feet of snow in three days. (Best skiing of the century!)

"I've lived in Alaska since 1967 and I don't remember ever having this much snow before," Elliston said.

Now there's a line that the editors of NY Times, WashPost, MSM
etc. won't let into print.
Unless the senior editors have departed on Fri Noon for a pub-crawl!

I was in anch last week, snow 4 foot deep in yards but no big deal.

Here in interior, snow don't bother me, minus 55 don't faze me, but the short light hours screw alot of the locals up.

Usually come every february, someone is wavin a pistol around. Last feb, had a local nut case tell me people been shot around here. I told him ya I got alot of guns too; you wanna start a war do you; and he stumbled back to his snowmachine swearing up a storm. Of course he was one of the churchies that wears it on his shirtsleeve. Lack of that big yellow sun creeping behind the mnt tops is much worse than snowpack.
