You are correct, all they worship at that church is their blackness. Obama has been trying to portray his Christianity as being meaningful when, in all reality, it is the same brand as Carter's and Clinton's.

Same in big city Chicago. Oscar DePriest led a prosperous Black middle class in the 20s. The depression did not hurt the black owned serevice businesses (hair products companies, news media, insurance, janitorial service, etc) as much as white business. The Black middle class bounced back strongly in the 50s in Chcago, only to be destroyed by urban renewal and white liberals planning what is best for Black people.

For example, white liberals not only used eminent domain against Black middle class businessmen who were despised as petite burgeoisie. They also destroyed the customer base of many Black businesses and relocated the customers to hi rise public housing complexes where social services could be delivered more efficiently if the families were stacked 30 stories high.

Church is the most segregated place in America.

Not all churches are the same. Some of us came out of churches that were not segregated. I look around my Bloomington-Normal IL neighborhood. The Pentecostal type churches are not segregated. Most of the churches that focus on the Bible are not segregated.

Churches that are really country clubs pretending to be churches do tend to be segregated... but not totally ... they are eager to have a couple tokens in their group ... just not too many of them.

Powell turned out to be a phony and so will Obama.

That gratutitous slap at Powell was not necessary. Powell did not have the fire in the belly. He lacked the megalomania of Hillary. And Powell's wife wanted nothing to do with it. . . . That I disagree with Powell on several issues does not detract from the fact that he was the real deal.

Powell was a political guy from the first moment that he was brought on board in the Reagan Administration. He was the weak link in the W admin. from the start and proved his bonafides by allowing Armitage to slip the knife in and keeping quiet about it. He' a POS, imo.
