Tens of thousands of demonstrators from across the country are expected to converge in Washington today to urge the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq as President Bush is proposing to send more troops in an effort to stabilize the country.
They plan to rally on the Mall, march around the north side of the Capitol and send a strong message to the government.
The event, which authorities said could draw 100,000 people, starts with a rally at 11 a.m. Among those expected to address the crowd are Jane Fonda, Danny Glover, Susan Sarandon and Jesse Jackson.
The march, organized by the group United for Peace and Justice, is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.

Fifty to 100 members of the Washington chapter of the conservative organization FreeRepublic.com plan to rally near the U.S. Navy Memorial to oppose the march and the participation of Jane Fonda, the chapter said. The actress has long been the object of conservative ire for her support of North Vietnam during the Vietnam War.
"These groups are the ones that are acting as the political arm of the terrorists overseas to help bring about America's defeat in the war on terror," said Kristinn Taylor of FreeRepublic.com.

Watada,, Your son signed on and full well knew what he was in for when he did so,, what lies these people spew..
Speaking of jon carry...he is in Davos,..and Fox News showed clips of him...
He is over there talking about what a failure America is..
He is saying some pretty SORRY things...and he is very SMUG as he says it.
I think he is trying to take CLINTON'S place as the international "let me tell you how bad our country is" guy...since Clinton, for some odd reason didn't go to Davos this year.
Why does Watada have a different last name than his son?
Was his son drafted?
They are spouting the same old crap from the 60's. No new ideas...
kristinn should sound an air raid siren. and we could watch them all wet their pants. If kristinn won't do it, I'll bet Doctor Raoul would : )
Oh..doncha know??
Saddam was NEVER any threat to us...and that is why we should never have gone there.
That is the story I have heard from Congressweinies.
They fail to see the danger of their own actions..
Jonathan Hutto
U.S. Navy
THAT'S WHAT IT SAID ON THE SCREEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hutto might get a blanket party back at camp tonight. {;0)
This guy is a blubbering idiot.
Google his name! interesting!
Jonathan Hutto
It's a systematic war..
Racism means we got to fight back
Imperialism means we got to fight back.
The war in Iraq,, we got to fight back.
somebody lock the door, and he simply won't be able to get back in.
Hillary is in Iowa, Pelosi and murtha are in iraq & afghanistan.
Liam Madden, a US soldier in uniform, is up speaking about how the US is evil and that we need to lose the war.
Hopefully the US military is watching this and will push for charges against him.
Exactly right. Dittoes to the rafters.
He also said that they didn't vote for war...
Does he mean "they", the people...or "they", the Congress and Senate? Cause if he means the Congress, they most certainly did...and one of those votes was right before the election, and they dared not alienate the people in their districts who were rightly angry after 9/11, and were looking for justice).
I guess "every means necessary", from the resolutions before both wars, means something different in the Leftie Lexicon.
and he doesn't think the Pres. Bush would win, if he had to run for POTUS again.
Funny...that's what they said when he ran the second time!
It's a straw man/red herring...but to entertain it for the most brief moment, if we knew "then" what we know "now", this country would never EVER elect a Democrat for anything but dogcatcher, certainly not for President. (As it is, we've only elected two Democrat presidents in the last 28 years, and only four in the last 48...guess today shows the brilliance of the American people)
Well...the war was going about the same in 2004, as it is now...and he DID WIN!!!
Quite right, dear Freeper, and that was with "war hero" (blech) John D student Kerry and his Breck girl running mate, John "mah dahd wuhked ina meeeeel" Edwards, as his opposition...right after Abu Ghraib, and Fallujah, and Nick Berg, and the nonstop in-kind contributions to the DNC known as the DriveBy Media, and "FraudNHype 911"...and the efforts to use Mary Cheney (whom VerryLeftwards made sure EVERYONE knew was a lesbian) as a wedge between the social conservatives and the Vice President...and he still won, and we added to our numbers in the House and Senate...seems so long ago.
These people are NOT Smart.
The problem is, they're not stupid, either. Crazy, for sure, but not stupid. The day that our president, whoever he/she is, agrees with them, and is in fact ONE of them, is a day to dread. Until then, we fight to make sure that there is no "then".
rant over
Hutto was NOT drafted.
Hutto is a disgrace to a Navy uniform (when he wears it).
some screech owl at the mike.. almost out of breath
and Herrrre's Je$$e
I'm embarrassed by these guys in military uniforms.
Now the Jackass is on! Get the popcorn..
Here we go! The good reverend!
